The help experience was incredible because I'm actually scared to touch uncooked fish but I will eat it once it's done. The store clerk was very helpful in cleaning and handling it for me, thank you guys.......

They are expensive. When I went there, there was only one guy working there. The place was not clean to me but I just bought for the day. I was thinking it is just me being picky. After I start cleaning the fish everything breaking in pieces and the fish was smelling bad. I finally put everything in the garbage. Anyway when I was leaving I decided never to come back. This place should be shut down. They really not following anything sanitary guidelines.

On Saturday, March 21st, 2026, I decided to walk from Broad Street in Newark to the Shop Rite in Kearny. On my way back I decided to stop in to buy some fresh fish. There were two men working in the store, and I approached one of them. He was not hospitable, and seemed like I was bothering him. I then stood in front of the counter where there was display of fish, and the same man refused to come and assist me. It took seconds for me to realize that they were not interested in my business, and perhaps did not need it.

I wish I could give 0 star. No customer service at all. The guys there are unprofessional and rude . Some of the fish I bought were spoiled. My girlfriend got food poisoning from eating it. Very unsanitary and unhealthy place. And on top of that they are very expensive. Even though it’s the closest fish market to me, I will go far far away from them to get my fish now on. I do not recommend this place

Got tilapia fillet from this store that was displayed with a big sign that reads: "Fresh Tilapia"! Turned to be super chewy and felt like eating hard rubber. I threw it in the garbage. I regret I didn't read the many negative reviews written by other customers pointing to this store as cheating their customers. Will NOT buy from them EVER again.
